Since its inception in 1992, Bhattacharyya Orthopaedics And Related Recovery Centre Private Limited founded by Dr. Sailendra Bhattacharyya (formerly known as Bhattacharyya Orthopaedics and Related Research Centre Private Limited), located at Rajarhat, has been acknowledged as an esteemed orthopaedic treatment centre in Kolkata. This 32 year-old centre tirelessly strives to provide advanced orthopaedic care to patients from all sectors of society. BORRC PVT. LTD. boasts of an accomplished team of doctors, who are well equipped to treat complicated and challenging orthopaedic cases. As a single-specialty orthopaedic hospital, the hospital’s singular and specialized focus allows them to channel their expertise entirely into orthopaedic care.

Managing Director’s message:
Our journey began with a vision—my father’s dream of making quality orthopaedic care accessible to the underserved. With deep faith in this mission, I have dedicated myself for the last 32 years, to ensure that affordable Orthopaedic treatment reaches the middle and lower-middle-class sections of our society. What started as a small clinic in a repurposed country house has evolved into a recognized 100-bed orthopaedic center in Eastern India. Throughout this journey, we have upheld ethical practices and remained steadfast in our commitment to patient care.
At our hospital, we believe in teamwork and specialization. Different groups of doctors focus on specific surgeries, fostering expertise, enhancing collaboration, and minimizing errors. This structured approach not only improves patient outcomes but also creates an environment of continuous learning and professional growth.
Beyond managing medical treatment, I personally ensure that we bridge the gap between doctors and patients. I take an active part in guiding patients and their families through the treatment process, ensuring they feel informed, supported, and confident in their healthcare decisions. I oversee communication regarding surgeries, financial implications, and overall patient care, harbouring clarity and trust, addressing concerns personalised to each patient.
Our hospital follows a unique philosophy of need-based surgery and tailors treatments to each patient’s context, managing costs while maximizing benefits for the patients. Whenever possible, we provide financial relief to those in need, reinforcing our commitment to inclusive healthcare.
While we strive for excellence in medical care, we recognize the importance of a supportive environment for our doctors. By fostering a culture of trust and collaboration, we ensure that our medical team can work with confidence, allowing them to focus entirely on delivering the best possible care to our patients.

Director’s message:
Welcome to Bhattacharyya Orthopaedics and Related Recovery Centre (BORRC PVT. LTD.), founded in 1992 by my father-in-law, Dr. Sailendra Bhattacharyya, with the vision of providing quality orthopedic care to all. Alongside my husband Indrajit, I take pride in continuing this legacy, growing BORRC PVT. LTD. into a leading 100-bed orthopaedic center.
At our institution, we prioritize compassionate, patient-centered care over a unidimensional pursuit of profit. We believe in holistic healing, offering a green and peaceful campus for patient recovery. Our focus is on treating the whole person, addressing both physical and emotional well-being. Simple gestures, such as offering fresh ‘Daaber jal’ and sweets to patients following spinal injections, exemplify our commitment to this approach.
At BORRC, we have an excellent team of dedicated doctors, and we ensure that there is active collaboration and exchange of ideas between the medical team and management as we chart growth plans for the hospital. As a firm believer in the dignity of all work, I remain actively involved in the hospital’s day-to-day operations, overseeing departments like OT, patient care, HR, canteen, and campus upkeep. We work as a team, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment for both staff and patients. We are committed to sustainability through eco-friendly initiatives, including solar panels, removal of usage of plastic and an effluent treatment plant, promoting energy efficiency and water conservation across our 4.5-acre green campus.
Clinical academic meetings are held weekly for the discussion of complicated orthopaedic cases and periodic workshops with the broader medical community are also held to share learnings on orthopaedic care and management.
Cooking is my other passion and over the years this has manifested into the establishment of “Eat Healthy,” our in-campus restaurant serving nutritious meals for both staff and visitors. Recently, we have expanded our services and launched a ‘Pet Pujo’ menu to include delivery to nearby areas, sharing our love for healthy home cooked calorie conscious food, for obese, diabetic, kidny problem and heigh protein diet for different types of patients and for the people who require care near and beyond the hospital campus. Eat Healthy our in campus restaurant also provides healthy and tasty meals for patients travelling in from distant areas. We also provide dormitory facilities which are also available for patient party within the campus.
